Watford House facilities

Rooms

The home has 39 rooms in total including 35 en-suite single rooms, 4 en-suite double rooms, All rooms have nurse call alarms.

Lounges

There are five comfortably furnished lounges in the home and 3 dining rooms. Bathrooms and toilet facilities are situated throughout the home in convenient and accessible areas.

Access

The home has 3 passenger lifts allowing residents to access all areas.

Chiropody

A Qualified Chiropodist visits the home every 6 weeks to ensure,  residents may opt out, that residents have their feet properly taken care of. This is not a service included in the room price but is charged to the residents at a very reasonable rate. (£10 as of Jan 2016). Each resident has a foot care file kept on their behalf.

Hairdressing

A dedicated private hairdresser visits the home twice a week and also as required offering a wide range of hair dressing services. The home has a separate hairdressing room with the full range of  hairdressing facilities.

Wireless internet/ residents IT

Watford House has a wireless public internet system throughout the care home available for use by the residents and families. The home has an IT suite offering access to computers which includes a large ergonomic 23″touchscreen workstation offering internet access and skype calling for the residents. Residents can opt to have an individual email address created where families and friends can send in photos and videos as well as emails.

Wireless telephones are available from the home and can be installed in residents rooms. These utilise 3G networks, the care fees do not cover the cost of SIM Cards and these must be supplied by families or the resident. It is usual that a PAYGO SIM is adequate.

The staff are on hand to help residents with the internet should they wish to use it.

Food Suppliers

we believe in supporting local suppliers and providing the best produce for our dedicated kitchen staff.

Butchery is supplied on a weekly basis directly from A E Poxon & Sons : Brownhills, Walsall.

Fresh fruit and veg is supplied weekly from local farm shops.

All other dry goods are delivered weekly from Brakes food supplies.
